Artwork Guidelines

  • If you are not familiar with graphic design software, please contact us and there’s no need reading the following artwork guidelines.
  • If you are a graphic designer, please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your design.

  • Software Supported (PC versions)

Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop etc.

  • File Formats

We prefer file formats are vector based and are listed below:
.EPS, .AI, .CDR or PDF.

  • Vector Graphics

This is the preferred format for printing stickers. A Vector image is a graphic that has been created in a drawing program (such as Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand or CorelDraw.). It uses paths to create polygons or lines and stores information mathematically. Vector art is Resolution Independent, which means that whether you enlarge or shrink the image, the output quality will be as high as you need it to be.

  • Color Specifications

Spot Color
Special Ink, Gold, Silver
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key/Black).
Pantone colors should be specified.

  • Text and Fonts

Use vector text where possible to ensure the best quality print.
Please outline (convert to curves) all used fonts before sending us your artwork.

  • Images

At least 300dpi at full size.
Converted to CMYK.
Embed images – linked images will not be used.

  • Bleed

The very edges of the document are called the bleed area. Parts of the artwork that are intended to print up to the trimmed edge of the stickers should be extended 2mm beyond the ‘cut line’ to give a ‘bleed’ (which allows for tolerance in the production process).
To prevent an unwanted white border from showing at the edge of your stickers, be sure to extend any background colours or design elements all the way beyond the trimmed edge (marked in red on the diagram) 1.5mm to the edge marked with a grey border on diagram.

  • Safe Margin

Ensure that any images or text are at least 1.5mm from the edge of the stickers.

  • Cutlines / Creaselines

Cutlines / creaselines must be on a separate layer.
Lines must be complete vector paths set to hairline (0.25mm).
Set the vector paths to colours that aren’t in the artwork.

  • Trademark Logos or Images

Please note that we cannot print any registered trademarks without written permission from the trademark owner.

  • Final Proof

If your artwork is suitable, we will email you a final proof for you to approve before we send your job to the press.

  • Approval

Customer must approve artwork prior to printing.
Customer-requested changes to sticker designs, whether the design was prepared by the customer or Stickers China, which are made after final approval and after sticker printing and/or application will be subject to additional sticker production charges.

If you have any questions about your stickers artwork, please contact us.
